The thermometer hit 111 F yesterday around here, and although that might be a snicker for people who live in Nevada or Utah, it was exceptionally affective here where I live in California. Air conditioning is only deployed in two rooms in this abode, and a skylight act like a magnifying glass during the afternoons. It get incredibly hot around 3 pm as the sun goes low and the shade diminishes making any kind of work impossible.
No water problems though. The water authority didn’t screw up this time. We are lucky.
Two turkey books arrived, which I won’t totally bore you with in this post. I’ll save my reviews and comments for another time. They did turn out to be better than I suspected. The turkeys themselves were in a rather desperate mood for shade yesterday. When I arrived home, Vanity was sitting there in the flower boxes looking in the window while her chicks were playing in the dirt and resting. She stayed for around 2-3 hours just looking inside. Later in the evening, around 6pm, the rest of the brood arrived, and it was quite entertaining to see 15 turkeys running down the hillside to the water…yes running. The poults just fell into the water disk I left out for them, they were that thirsty.
Music – had only 20 minutes last evening for myself as some chores took over. I hand sketched some material and gained a little more confidence about it. However, I was exhausted by the weather. Read for 10 minutes and then went to bed.
Today, more of the same. The forecast reads 108 F, but it usually is wrong a few degrees. I’m staying where I am today.
Don’t know how I am going to get all these piles completed – sketches, new music, Gogh letters, turkey books, literature, technical manuals, music manuals.
